Although I am a huge fan of newspaper puzzles, I have often felt a lack of stimulation when doing puzzles that come to me in paperback form. They are usually either extremely easy, [boring!], or so abstract that only Einstein or Freud could reach the correct conclusions!

I was pleasantly surprised, however, when I cracked open Inspirational Zingers Jumble by Christopher Hudson.

You know those wonderful 'Jumble' puzzles that you get in the national newspapers, that contain a secret message when you have finished the entire puzzle? Well, with Hudson's book, you can enjoy those popular puzzles while being encouraged by inspirational thoughts when you obtain the message in the end!

This delightful puzzle book contains 6 different kinds of 'Jumble' puzzles:

    *  Jumbles

    *  Double Jumbles

    *  Mystery Person Jumbles

    *  Word Search Jumbles

    *  Super Jumbles

    *  Criss-Cross Jumbles

I've carried the book around with me for the past several days, and have found the puzzles quite addicting! I've worked them in between client research; while on hold on the telephone; during commercials while watching television in the evening; and even during a well deserved quiet time in the bubble bath!

I highly recommend this book if you enjoy working puzzles. They aren't so difficult that you need assistance to solve them, and yet, they each and every one offer you a moment of enlightenment when you solve the final inspirational quote.

I give this book five [5] stars! *****

Christopher Hudson is a contributor to many Bible reference and entertaining books, including 'Brain Busters', 'Mysteries of the Bible',  and the popular 'What the Bible Says About...' series.

This is the first in a series of books that features archaelogist Nina Wilde and her bodyguard, cum boyfriend, Eddie Chase [ex English secret services agent].

Approached by billionaire Kristian Frost and his daughter, Kari, Nina Wilde is enticed to look for the lost city of Atlantis. It was during her parents search for the legendary city that they were killed, only Nina believes an avalanche took their lives!

Nina meets her new bodyguard, Eddie Chase, and the adventures begin.

The pair, along with Kari Frost, travel about the globe as they follow their clues to the city. All along the way they are met with resistance from a secret brotherhood that means to stop Frost. Believing the brotherhood are their enemies, Nina and Eddie do everything in their power to foil the attempts to stop their search.

High in the Tibetan mountains the couple learn the truth, Frost is seeking the lost city of Atlantis in an attempt to perfect an Atlantean breed of humans to take over the world. They intend to plant a virus that will take the lives of everyone who does not carry the Atlantean gene that has passed down through the thousands of years to a mere 14% of mankind. And suddenly, it's up to Nina and Eddie to protect mankind, and preserve the world as we know it!

What follows is a series of events that is swarthed in death and murder.

In the end, the couple beat the odds. And another adventure is about to take place, in the next book in the series, The Tomb of Hercules.

The author promises a sequel out in late Spring 2011. And I can hardly wait to get it!

This very intimate story of one family, and how they manage to stick together through the thick and thin of every day life, is one story you won't want to miss!

Cussler takes us once more into the world of the Oregon and that of her chairman, Juan Cabrillo.

The US Secretary of State’s plane has crashed on the way to a peace summit in Libya. Juan Cabrillo and his crew from the Oregon are hired to find her.

The Libyans have other things in mind. Like finding old Islamic scrolls from a former pirate, Sulieman Al Jama. The scrolls could possibly lead them to a word that the Muslims should bring peace between the Christian’s and their people.

Add an archaeological team into the mix, and you’ve got yourself another Clive Cussler story that will keep you on your toes from start to finish.

It’s another one of those great novels that Cussler writes that you just can’t put down! Non-stop action from the word “go!”. And ending with a twist that is pure Cussler genius!

I wouldn’t be wrong in stating this is by far one of Cussler’s best!

Corsair had me from page one. And it blew me away at the ending!

So this was probably the most fun I've had reading a book in a long while! I couldn't put it down!!!

I laughed so hard, I thought I'd cry! And then I did cry when some of the of the comedic antics and self-psycho-analysis got a little too close for comfort!

When Phil Camp gets back pain, he's a forty-something, divorced, writer who takes irreverant punches at those he writes about. He also finds the source of his pain may be his deep seated fear, rage, anger, desires, [can we get any more idioms here?] and, oh yes, could it possibly be that he might actually be a grandfather?

Bill Scheft writes, as only Bill Scheft can. In that quirky way that leads you to wonder what's really going on in this guy's head?

Phil Camp discovers as a pre-teen that his teenaged brother doesn't really share the same Dad he has. And that their Dad, isn't so great of a man after all. Jim, Phil's brother, loses a certain function with a rather delicate part of his anatomy because Dad, and Mom, are too involved in their golf games to take time out for the kids.

The brothers become estranged over the years. Well, especially after Phil [aka: Marty Fleck] has sex with Jim's fiancee the night before they take off to get married! So, when their first daughter becomes a mother, Jim's now ex-wife sends a rather cryptic "Happy Birthday Grandpa" to Phil. [Are you with me here?]

Phil [alias Marty] has been divorced for a while, but considers his brother the only smoozer with the women.  The brothers meet once in eight years, and yeah, it ain't pretty.

Fast forward to the pain in Phil's lower back, and gluteus maximus, which causes his left leg to suddenly take off on it's own at times, and the brothers meet up again. This time after a psychotherapist has written a self-help book for those in pain. It's all from rage... he touts.

Still with me?

The brothers come full circle in the end. And there really is a happy ending to this crazy, mixed up tale!

You won't want to put it down!

But be careful... you may end up wondering, just what the heck really is the cause of that niggling little pain in your back?

This was one of my first attempts at reading author Andy McDermott's works, and I was pleasantly surprised!

Heroine, Nina Wilde leads fiancee, Eddie Chase, on a wild ride that leads from Bournemouth, England and it's gentile quiet surroundings, to Greece,  Switzerland,  Jordan,  Syria, Austria, London, and even Moscow!

From quiet towns by the sea, to ancient castles, to caverns beneath Glastonbury Tor that take them far beneath the earth's surface, spelunking and diving, to a nuclear Typhoon class submarine that is fast sinking in the ocean, this couple goes from one major, death-defying moment to another. All while being duped by a quadruple-agent spy for the world organization DAARPA.

Think Indian Jones meets Robert Langford and the hunt for one of the world's most sought after treasures, King Arthur's fabled Excalibur, is on!

You won't want to miss a single moment of this action-packed novel! If you love historical archaeology searches, and the fast-paced novels that usually are consigned to spy and thriller agendas, then this is the book for you!

Watch as Nina, and Eddie, literally save the entire planet from possible destruction!

Andy McDermott has 2 books prior to this featuring this duo, and another that came afterward. Bet you can guess, I'm heading to the bookstore now to get all three!
