Ravenous - Dayna Macy

Ravenous

ISBN 978-1-4019-2691-5

Macy takes us on a wonderful journey regarding her fight to control her inner cravings with food.

Delightful and easy to read, she also adds one of her cherished recipes at the end of each chapter.

It isn't an easy journey Macy goes through, but the emotional transformation seems well worth the trip! I found myself nodding "Yes, I know eactly how that feels!' on more than one occasion as she stumbles, falls, and picks herself up throughout her discoveries!

I definitely give this book...

Consider this book my "next to the Bible" go-to-for-cooking", do-it-all for my kitchen book!

Or to put it simpler.... my new BFF!!!

Three hundred recipes under 300 calories for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

You got that right, girlfriend! All of 'em under three-hundred-calories!!!

And I'm not talking pasty, cardboard wanna-be recipes! I'm talking scrumptious, easy and quick to fix recipes that you're gonna use time and time again!

I was a bit skeptical when I first saw this book on the shelf in my local Walmart. My eldest son had just given me a little money for Mother's Day, and dontcha know I was eager to spend it, but wanted to spend it wisely, when I saw this little treat there!

Well, it's the best Mother's Day present I think I've ever gotten!

I've already made more than a dozen of these scrump-dilly-icious recipes, and I can't stop coming back for more of 'em!!!

The only drawback I found is that HG tends to use processed foods for cutting corners. To make the recipes with less processed and less sodium, I found that you can simply substitute with fresh ingredients and come up with an even healthier meal!!! The basics are there and can't be denied... these are the best recipes all around!

If you're like I am, and trying to fight the battle of the bulge.... then this book is for you!

I give this one....
....five stars and my.....

...thumbs up award!

Homicide Detective D'Agosta and FBI Agent Pendergast delve deep into the world of voodou and obeah, to the realm of the zombii in search of a killer, or killers, on the loose in upper Manhattan. A world where animal, and perhaps human, sacrifice, are well known.

Or is what appears to be reality, the real truth?

The twists and turns of fantasy and imagination keep this novel hopping from one foot to th other as you try to outguess the pro's in what will happen next!

Even the most die-hard of "who-dunnit" fans will find this one hard to solve!

I give this book...

A wonderfully told tale of a young German immigrant to France. A woman locked in her own torment from a Nazi past.

A romantic tragedy that will touch you to the core, I highly recommend this read taking place in the late 1950's and early 1960's of France and it's tumultuous upheaval.

My Dear I Wanted To Tell You - by Louisa Young

My Dear I Wanted To Tell You

Copyright 2011
Harper Collins Publishers
ISBN: 978-0-06-199714-3

This was one of those books I simply could not put down once beginning!

A lovely story of a young man overcoming the odds of poverty and ignorance in pre-WWI England. True love. Romance. And the feeling of losing that love, only to face an adversity that most would have shriveled and died from.

It is also the view of the young woman who loves this boy, turned gentleman, turned soldier, and her unswerving faith and love in him.

What a great story! I highly recommend this novel to anyone who believes that true love will, in fact, find a way!

I give this book...
